This paper reviews studies of suicide among college students in the U.S. since 1928. A higher incidence rate was not found. The crude rates were adjusted to account for variables known to affect suicide rates. In order to evaluate the factors that influence college student suicide rate, co-operative, multi-institution studies or utilization of frequently occurring phenomena that correlate with the suicide rate (leaving college due to physical or emotional illness) could be used.
