This is a short article summarizing several aspects of elderly suicide. A white male of increasing age who has suffered some significant loss is at high risk. Methods of suicide can include refusing food or medicine. Due to the “tunnel vision” of those considering suicide, suicidologists recommend intervention when signs of suicide (e.g. giving away treasured possessions, wishing for death) appear in elderly people.
