Chapter
A Critique of Professional Ethics (IN: Suicide Theory and Clinical Aspects, ed. by L D Hankoff and B Einsidler)
Szasz T S
In this chapter the author considers professional ethics with regard to suicide. He suggests that to view suicide as a manifestation of emotional illness is erroneous & evil. Erroneous because it treats an act as if it were a happening. Evil because it serves to legitimatize psychiatric force & fraud by justifying it as medical care & treatment. (CM)
