The author evaluates the attitudes & concepts of ancient Egyptians concerning death & the afterlife. He concludes that there was relative acceptance of suicide. The ancient Egyptians did not view suicide as a violation of their religion or their legal code. This attitude may even have been tempered by a certain desirability of the tranquil state of death.
