This article presents an overview of major factors in geriatric suicide including gender, age, race, marital status, depression, & alcoholism; an assessment of suicidal risk; strategies for intervention & prevention; therapies, such as, family, pet, creative arts, & psychotherapy used to prevent suicide in the elderly.
