Abstract
Suicide Among High Achievers
The 19th annual survey of high-achieving teenagers showed that 30% have considered committing suicide, 45% said they knew someone who had killed themself or had tried to & 4% said they had tried to commit suicide. Since the survey began tracking suicide attitudes 4 yrs ago, the percentages who reported personally considering or trying to commit suicide or knowing of an attempted/completed suicide have increased. Results were based on responses from 2,024 students.
