The case of a 15-year-old male who ingested phenytoin sodium approximately 4 hours before emergency department presentation is discussed. A wide spectrum of physical findings was noted. This case report & a review of cases reported in the English literature of acute single anticonvulsant ingestion further delineate the clinical presentation of acute phenytoin overdose. (52 refs)
