Biological Correlates of Suicidal Behavior in Youth (IN: Suicide Among Youth: Perspectives on Risk and Prevention, ed. by C R Pfeffer)

Reviews studies addressing the possibility that a genetically determined biological vulnerability distinguishes those who suicide from the majority who do not. Emphasizing findings in youth suicide, the authors conclude that there is an association between impaired or altered serotonergic function & suicidal behavior in young suicide completers.
