This article begins by examining incest rates in in the general population, & the ages of most incest victims. It also discusses the symptoms that can be found in incest survivors, such as sexual dysfunctions or self-destructive behaviours. The article also examines the effects of incest abuse such as traumatic neurosis & self hypnotic anesthesia. Parentification of a child & the subsequent development triggers carried into adulthood are explained by the author, as well as the guilt often carried in a survivors self-identity.
