Selected psychiatric aspects of drug abuse treatment of intravenous opiate addicts suffering from AIDS & AIDS-related conditions are described. The discussion, which is illustrated with case examples, includes treatment setting & goals; management of denial, anger, & depression, & recommendations for dealing with AIDS patients. (LH)
