This documentary looks at the suicide of a 16 year old Cree girl through the eyes of the other members of the Samson Band in Hobbema, Alberta. Although this reserve is the richest in Canada due to “oil money”, it has a suicide rate 15 times higher than any other. The commentator concludes that no matter how wealthy, Indians are still outsiders in this country; dollars merely numb the pain & distract from their lack of power. (GW)
