This is a summary of a panal discussion of methods & problems in survivor education/outreach. Because survivors are particularly vulnerable to suicide, working with them is preventative, but reaching them is often difficult due to psychological & cultural obstacles. Discussions include the profession’s & the public’s reluctance to acknowledge survivors, the importance of dealing with survivors in schools, & a survivor’s experience in researching & writing a book on surviving suicide.
