Of approximately 100 suicide prevention program with classroom components, 40 were identified as including some degree of evaluation of the program. It is suggested that programs evaluate changes in knowledge, using a pre-post procedure; assess attitudes & behaviours of students & faculty; & assess the impact of the program in a variety of implementations. A 5-step guideline for evaluating suicide prevention programs is included. (RM)
