This book examines suicide notes. It includes a literature review & an outline for a theoretical analysis of suicide notes; a study of 10 suicidologists; a comparison of notes from 1945-54 & 1983-84; & some observations on age & gender differences. Some of the findings include: suicidal people in the 40s & 50s were more ambivalent, while today they are more constricted; & genuine notes are different from simulated ones. (GW)
