A suicide cluster is defined as a group of suicides or suicide attempts, or both, that occur closer together in time and space than would normally be expected in a given community. Health officials produced this set of guidelines to assist community leaders in developing a community response plan for suicide clusters. It is recommended that the crisis response should be conducted in a manner that avoids the glorification of suicide victims and minimises sensationalism in the media.
