This is a summarized presentation describing a class at Cornell Medical Center for nurses & mental health workers, designed to integrate the theory of suicide risk factors & communications skills utilizing videotaped role play demonstrations. Participants may be cast as either staff or patient, & when not role playing, share their reaction to the communication skills of the staff performing the suicide assessment.
