In this brief summary, 3 studies are reported: the prevalence of suicide facts & myths in Canada in the largest sample reported in the literature; in a number of different groups e.g. students; a follow-up to evaluate memory for such information. Results indicate that the level of knowledge is quite high with the exception of 2 facts: individuals are only suicidal for a limited time, & suicide typically occurs within about 3 months following improvement.
