This is a summarized study which investigates the relationship between hospitalized self-harm patients’ degree of endorsement of traditional gender roles & attendance at initial after-care treatment appointments. Patients were categorized as masculine or feminine regardless of their biological sex. Women & the feminine males & females attended appointments at a significantly higher rate than men & the masculine males & females respectively. Implications are discussed briefly. (GW)
