Multiple Suicide Attempts/Threats in a Junior High School: the Role of Intervention by Mental Health Agencies
Berkovitz I H~~Solt K~~Surtshin S
In this summarized paper the authors discuss suicidal behavior at the junior high age level using data from a Los Angeles school that employed an intervention program & data from 18 junior high schools in Cleveland. The authors felt that the criteria & record keeping in the 2 studies have not yet been well coordinated; the reason for increased rates in both cities in 1984-85 & the decline in 1985-86 deserve speculation; the figures suggest the magnitude but do not allow significant conclusions.
