In 1985 legislation was introduced in New Jersey to address the problem of adolescent suicide. Three project sites were chosen and their goals were to disseminate information, enhance school based supports and strengthen the link between schools and mental health agencies. To test the program an evaluation design was used and questionnaires were supplied. This one year project placed New Jersey ahead of the rest of the nation in terms of dealing with such tragedy.
