Studies the development of suicidal ideation as it relates to family disruption. 438 university students in Alaska were surveyed: 220 had seriously considered suicide & 32 had made a suicide attempt. Findings include a correlation between suicidal ideation & suicide in the family, earlier family disruptions & time since family disruption. Discussion speculates on the development of suicidal ideation in children. (RM)
