Women’s non-lethal suicidal behavior occurs most commonly in young women in troubled relationships. This condensed study explores the object-relation issues in young & adult suicidal women & their partners. Results indicated that suicidal women tended to view themselves as pathological & helpless, & their partners as healthy & masterful. In spite of this, the women were not found to be more disturbed. Other aspects suggested, however, that the dynamics may be different for the 2 age groups.(GW)
