This is a very brief summary of a study which examined the relationship between population shifts & suicide rates for a number of countries. Findings include: longitudinal data from Hungary & Japan did not support the hypothesis of a relationship between suicide rates & population changes among youth over time, whereas data from Australia, Canada & Italy did; having a high proportion of adolescents in the population was associated with more manifest psychopathology.
