In this paper a straightforward statistical test for detecting clustering in patterns of parasuicide (attempted suicide) in individual patients is described & applied to data from the Edinburgh Regional Poison Treatment Centre. The potential for prediction of future attempted suicide in such individuals is discussed. (GW)
