This article discusses the responses to life events as predictors of adolescent suicidal behavior with reference to a specific study, as well as, the literature in general. Implications include: adolescents experiencing increased stress from life events may be at risk for a suicide attempt, an important predisposing influence is a family history of mental health problems, health care professionals should be aware of warning signals in order to determine appropriate points of intervention.
