This study compared therapists with high client attrition rates to therapists with low attrition rates on selected demographic & client-perceived initial-session therapy-process variables. Results didn’t show any differences in demographic composition but a number of therapy process variables significantly differentiated the 2 groups. It was advocated that researchers consider the role of the therapist & therapy process dimensions in future studies of early psychotherapy termination. (2 refs)
