Abstract
The Gifted Adolescent: At Risk for Suicide?
This article claims that gifted girls aged 13-15 comprise the largest category of attempted suicides & gifted teenage boys, the largest category of completed suicides. Stress is the culprit and gifted children, research suggests, are more sensitive to emotional stress than average children. This brief article descibes a program involving biofeedback which was successful in helping the students identify & control their personal stressors. (GW)
