This report focuses on U.S. federal grantee involvement, state & local response, barriers & gaps in dealing with suicidal youth, & lists major findings augmented by visual aids & charts. The authors note that youth at risk defy categorization; suicide is a symptom & should not be dealt with in isolation; public education is a necessity; family support is key for initiating treatment & a successful outcome & that prevention should be community based.
