Skutsch has proposed a theory of depression based on the presence of high levels of dopamine in the central nervous system. The present paper uses Skutsch’s theory & the relationship between dopamine & estrogen levels to explain the fact that males complete suicide more than females whereas females attempt suicide more than males.
