Review of the panel “Suicide & the Life Cycle”, Washington, D.C. April 1988. The panel looked at the increase in youth suicide from an epidemiological & socio-cultural point of view using large population studies. Research focused on social trends; adolescents’ sense of well-being & the evaluation of & suicidal behavior by gender, age, ethnicity, marital status, socioeconomic status, history of psychiatric disorders, ideation, & attempted suicides.
