This article is a response to another study that discussed 4 alcoholic homosexual men who attempted to contract Auto Immuno Deficiency Syndrome as a method of suicide. The response includes a summary of the case of a 23 year-old woman who also attempted to contract Auto Immuno Deficiency Syndrome in order to die by suicide. A description of interpersonal problems & the childhood background of the woman are included. (4 refs) (SC)
