The relationship between level of experience & psychotherapists reports of stress in their work was studied in a questionnaire survey of 110 female & 117 male licensed psychologists. Five stress factors associated with the nature of psychotherapeutic work & 5 associated with patient behaviors (one of which was suicidal threats) were identified. Less stress was reported by older therapists with moderate caseloads. 28 Refs. (NBB)
