Privitera M R~~Springer M O~~Perlmutter R A
A study was conducted over a 2-month period to identify cues or clinical factors involved in the decision to search emergency room patients. 26 patients who were searched were compared to 590 who were not searched. Of the 26 searched, 8 (30.8%) were found to have potentially harmful weapons. 62.5% of these (5) had made suicidal threats. 14 Refs. (NBB)
