This letter to the Editor of the Archives of Internal Medicine reports the case of a 33-year old man who attempted suicide by ingesting lithium carbonate & benztropine. His condition worsened up to 17 hours after overdosing. The study commented upon had suggested that patients observed not to develop high risk conditions after initial assessment were in no further danger. The case presently reported is an exception to the findings of Brett et al. 5 Refs. (NBB)
