The authors report the case of a 26-year old male who committed suicide following ingestion of approximately 10 grams of metoprolol. Autopsy results indicated metoprolol blood levels six to seven-hundred times the therapeutic concentration, & severe atherosclerosis with 90% occlusion of the LAD coronary artery. Metoprolol intoxication was the primary factor involved in the victim’s death. 13 Refs. (NBB)
