The author presents guidelines for the assessment of patients subjected to sexual intimacy by health care professionals. Diagnostic criteria for the “therapist-patient sex syndrome” are described, including emotional liability, guilt, suicidal ideation, ambivalence, anger, cognitive dysfunction, & other psychological disturbances.
