This extensive study is an evaluation of a suicide prevention scheme at a municiple hospital in Stockholm during 1964-1969. Subjects had attempted suicide by poisoning & had been admitted to a medical intensive care unit. The study group were treated in the period 1964-66 & received follow-up assistance at 1 month, 6 months, & 12 months. The control group received standard hospital care but no follow-up. After 5-6 years, the repeated attempted suicide rate was similar in the 2 groups. 152 Ref.
