Abstract
Patient Suicide During Residency Training (1): Incidence, Implications, and Program Response
Brown H N
The suicide of a resident’s patient is a significant event. This 10-year study reveals that one-third of the graduates from one psychiatric residency training program had the experience of a patient committing suicide. Some implications are discussed, including a 5-phase conceptual scheme for training program anticipation of & response to this crisis. (NBB)
