The purpose of this article is to discuss some of the attitudes that may be influential when parents & therapists try to communicate with one another about a disturbed student. 5 crisis situations & 3 non-crisis situations are discussed. The crisis situation dealt with is announcing death by suicide. The author counsels therapists to plan for adequate time for interviews so that tension will not be added to an already stressful situation. (NBB)
