This study reports results of an investigation conducted in the Psychiatry Dept. of the MVA Hospital, & is essentially a replication of a portion of Farberow’s research using the MMPI in the evaluation of suicidal patients. Subjects were grouped in 1 of 3 categories: 50 attempters, 100 suicidal ideators, & 211 in a control group. An analysis of MMPI scores indicated ideators to be much more severely disturbed than either of the other 2 categories, & the latter categories are similar. (NBB)
