Appendix “B” to Dr. Maltsberger’s book contains an assessment tool for suicide risk. The Risk Estimator for Suicide is a scale designed to evaluate the risk of suicide in adults aged 18-70, during the 2-year period following the time of assessment. This is a clinician-administered scale, & the subjective judgement of the interviewer is used throughout. The scale consists of Age Scoring Table, a Risk Factor Scoring Table, & a Table of Risk. (NBB)
