Eventually, about 17% of all alcoholics commit suicide. People from families with histories of alcohol abuse, depression, suicide & aggression are at high risk for continuing these traditions. Substance dependents lose the respect of family & friends, their jobs, health, sense of well-being, & their ability to deal with their problems. Loss leads to depression which does not yield to alcohol. Death begins to look like the only way out. Advice for alcoholics & people who know them is included.
