For some unemployment means stress, depression & other health problems. Stages of depression may resemble reactions to the loss of a loved one: initially, shock, & disbelief, followed by “hope against hope”, then tentative stability. Health problems may run the gamut from simple aches to heart attacks. statistically, longterm effects may by suicide & homicide.
