This article discusses suicide prevention strategies for caregivers who work with elderly patients. Discusses the dynamics & clinical profiles of the elderly as well as management of the problem. Caregivers require knowledge of suicide psychoanalytical theory & the composite clinical profile, combined with careful intervention techniques in order to make intervention a realistic goal for this age group.
