This article discusses approaches that can be taken in nursing homes to deal with the problem of elderly suicide. The problems of social isolation & loneliness can be alleviated by providing a link to the outside world for these patients. Also discusses the benefits of a recreactional program, as well as specific policies that nursing home administrators can adopt.
