Even though some researchers claim that SPC’s & crisis centres reduce the suicide rates of only one group (young, white females), there is substantial evidence that such organizations have provided help & comfort to a large number of persons experiencing difficulties. She describes organizations, such as high school, the samaritans in developing peer counselling centres, presenting workshops, & working with prison inmates. She concludes that SPC would provide valuable service to the community.
