Currently (1985) the NCHS has no data on the number of suicides by Hispanics, but a survey is presently being conducted & data will be available for analysis by 1986. Sanchez briefly describes both the environmental factors that may precipitate suicide & protective factors that may reduce suicide risk among Hispanics. (NBB)
