Overholser J C~~Miller I W~~Norman W H
This study attempts to delineate the course of depressive illness in suicidal, depressed inpatients as compared with a matched group of nonsuicidal, depressed inpatients. 30 adult nonpsychotic subjects were assessed on a variety of self-report measures & several clinical interviews during hospitilization & follow-ups at 4,10 & 16 months after discharge. Although displaying similar levels of depression during hospitalization & at long-term follow-up, the suicidal group was slower to recover.
