This paper is the result of a survey of psychiatrists on various questions of adolescent suicide. The most frequent cited reason for an attempt is parental problems (52%). Suicidal adolescents often use drugs & alcohol as a type of coping behavior & it is indicated that attempting suicide is done for the same reason. Signs of depression & suicidal behavior are given. A preventive, educational support system for parents of at-risk adolescents is seen as important.
