A young adult chronic patient is presented from the standpoint of her intense dependency on treaters and on hospitalization in general. In a formal discussion of the case, the patien’s dependency is dissected into more easily understandable components. The Patient does not share the treatment staff’s interest in cure, and this discrepancy must be addressed. Similarly, the patient’s family brings her to treatment with a different agenda than that of the patient.
